Spanish operetta "las Calles" at the Grand Theatre organised by the Association Luxembourg - Peru ASBL

Under the high patronage of the Embassy of Spain, the Embassy of Peru, the city of Luxembourg and the Grand Theatre, the Luxembourg-Peru Association -founded by the Honorary Consul of Peru, Ms. Haydée Fischbach Nadal in 1992 - conducted last Thursday a beautiful philanthropic project to help the street children of Peru by staging a Spanish operetta at the Grand Theatre.

Luxemburgish and international personalities joined in the action, as well as local charities such as the Symphony Orchestra of students of the conservatoire of the city of Luxembourg, Voices International, La Fanfare Reckenger Musek, the International School of Luxembourg, the Triana-Flamenco Dance Company, and the school of music of Echternach.

"Las calles", an adaptation of an 19th century Spanish operetta "la Gran Via" occurs in Madrid, before the construction of a large street, the Gran Via. Colorful polka, tango and sevillana dance scenes took place before a delighted audience but the star of the evening was the EIB Economist and talented singer Ignacio Gonzales. The highlight of the evening was however the tremendous performance delivered by Mr. Paul Helminger, Mayor of the city of Luxembourg, singing a popular Mosel song.

The Luxembourg – Peru Charity and NGO help promote sponsorship or adoption of orphans or deprived children from Cuzco and the Ayacucho region.
