Schëndelser Kueben : 1 000 € pour équiper le nouveau hangar et la serre de la Stëmm vun der Strooss

Les Schëndelser Kueben ont collecté 1 000 € grâce à la vente de jus de pomme au profit du centre de post-thérapie de l’association Stëmm vun der Strooss.

Le Président des Schëndelser Kueben, Gilles Weber, a remis ce don au responsable du service, Daniel Schneider et à Tony Barrela qui ont souligné que ce soutien financier servira à équiper une partie du nouveau hangar et de la nouvelle serre, inaugurés le 13 octobre dernier.

Grâce à ces nouvelles installations construites en plein nature sur le site du château de Schoenfels, les 37 personnes actuellement engagées dans le cadre d’une mesure de réintégration professionnelle pourront cultiver et récolter des légumes tout au long de l'année. Sur ces 37 personnes, 12 y sont hébergées. Elles ont toutes achevé avec succès une thérapie et elles continuent à lutter contre leur addiction aux drogues, à l’alcool ou aux médicaments.

«Avoir des légumes frais toute l'année nous permettra d’approvisionner nos restaurants sociaux situés 7, rue de la Fonderie à Hollerich et 32, Grand Rue à Esch-sur-Alzette. Chaque jour, nous y servons 400 repas», a déclaré Alexandra Oxacelay, directrice de la Stëmm vun der Strooss.

Stëmm’s receives 1 000 € from Schendelser Kueben to equip its new shed

Schëndelser Kueben raised 1000 € through apple picking, apple juice production and the selling of apple juice, all in aid of Stëmm vun der Strooss’ post-therapy centre in Schoenfels.

A cheque with a value of 1 000 € was handed over at the centre to the site manager, Daniel Schneider and Tony Barrela in the presence of the President of the Schëndelser Kueben, Gilles Weber.

The donation will be used to equip the new shed that was recently inaugurated on 13 October 2017. The shed means that the 37 people who are part of Stëmm’s professional reintegration programme will be able to cultivate and plant vegetables at the site all year, instead of just during the spring and summer. Of these 37 people, 12 currently reside at the post-therapy centre.

“Once up and running, the shed will mean that we can have fresh vegetables all year long to supply our social restaurants in Hollerich and Esch-sur-Alzette where we serve close to 300 meals each day of the week ,” said Alexandra Oxacelay, Director of Stëmm vun der Strooss.

Located on the rural site of the Schoenfels castle, the post-therapy centre provides support to those who have completed treatment to combat drug or alcohol addiction.
