Rotary Club Luxembourg Hearts Masquerade 10th Anniversary Charity Gala

Rotary Club Luxembourg-Hearts Celebrates 10 Years with Masquerade Charity Gala

On 19 October 2024, Rotary Club Luxembourg-Hearts hosted its 10th Anniversary Masquerade Charity Gala at Hotel Le Royal. The event brought together more than 170 guests in support of Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner, which helps families of children with cancer. Over the course of the evening, the event successfully raised €35,000 to help fund vital research into pediatric brain tumors. These funds were collected through a combination of sponsor contributions, ticket sales, guest donations, raffle tickets, and silent auction purchases.

Guest of honor and master of ceremonies

The gala was attended by Martine Deprez, Luxembourg’s Minister of Health and Social Security, whose presence highlighted the importance of community-driven healthcare support.

The evening’s programme was led by Lisa Burke who served as the Master of Ceremonies.

Exhibitions and special features

Two exhibitions added a unique cultural element to the gala, showcasing both artistic expression and technological innovation:

· Thomas Iser, a Franco-Luxembourgish artist, displayed a selection of his #UniversalHumanity photography series, which explores themes of diversity. Guests had the opportunity to purchase several of his works, with many pieces being sold on the night to increase funds of the charity.

· Matthieu Bracchetti, CEO of Virtual Rangers, presented an interactive virtual reality experience featuring "Roudy," a character created to provide comfort to pediatric patients at Luxembourg’s Centre Hospitalier. The VR experience was designed to ease anxiety and offer a playful escape for young patients undergoing medical treatments.

Entertainment and performances

Guests were treated to a variety of live performances throughout the evening, offering a blend of music and entertainment:

· Live jazz performances by Manuela Rufolo and Pierre Brouant set a sophisticated and relaxed tone for the night.

· Circus acts performed by Zaltimbourg Zirkus captivated the audience with their skillful and dynamic show.

· Max le Magicien entertained with a series of magic tricks, adding a playful and engaging element to the evening’s festivities.

· DJ Double J

Raffle and silent auction

The event also featured a raffle and silent auction, where guests could bid on a diverse selection of prizes. These included private yoga sessions, luxury spa treatments, fine wines, art pieces, dining vouchers, and hotel stays. The raffle and auction were key fundraising components, contributing significantly to the overall success of the evening.
